climb kit is just slightly more climbing supplies than pitons/hammer/rope. IIRC the only thing it includes besides that is knife-boots. The effect is the same though. You are tied to a piton that is hammered into a surface. Hammer at the base of doors to keep them from being opened unexpectedly.
